Somerset’s County and District Councils have now merged to form the new Unitary Authority Council for Somerset. Existing council services are now delivered by Somerset Council with effect from 1st April 2023.
Crewkerne now falls under two council tiers – County (Unitary) and Town Council. Each government level has different responsibilities and services to provide, but they work closely together to represent the interests of their communities.
