Register of Interest

Vice Chair, Planning & Highways Committee

I have lived in Crewkerne for over ten years, having moved to Somerset from Devon. A lifelong and passionate horticulturalist and conservationist, I did a career change in my forties to study horticultural management. Graduating from the University of Plymouth, I worked for the National Trust and went on to teach at a land based college.

With an interest in children and young people, since retiring I have been involved in various voluntary roles, including as a children’s mentor with PromiseWorks, a Somerset based charity supporting local children, child advocacy with Somerset Children’s Services, and helping at community events such as the Charter Fair with Crewkerne District Rotary. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, visiting historical gardens and am often to be found walking my dog on Bincombe Beeches.

I am proud to serve the town of Crewkerne as an independent councillor. I believe that communities are at their very best when people from all backgrounds and persuasions pull together and I am a great supporter of community initiatives.

“We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us” – Jo Cox.
